JIA Snowshoe Checkout Program

We are excited to announce our new Snowshoe Checkout program. Through generous funding provided by AARP Wisconsin, we have purchased 11 pairs of snowshoes of various sizes (4 youth, 7 adult) and hiking poles. Any local resident can checkout the snowshoes, free of charge, at the Lunda Community Center this winter, starting in December. A membership to the Lunda Community Center is not needed to checkout the snowshoes, free of charge.

Snowshoes will be able to be checked out for 48 hours at a time, and will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We are not taking reservations at this time. Snowshoes are expected to be returned in good condition. The borrower will be responsible for any damage outside of normal wear and will be responsible for the cost of the snowshoes if lost or not returned.

Snowshoeing is a wonderful way to be active in the winter! It is beginner-friendly and healthy for all ages. This low-impact activity is not only good for your physical health, but being active in the outdoors is great for your mental health also. Gather up your friends and family and explore Jackson County this winter in a new way!
